Lucknow, Feb 7 (IANS) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Tuesday said the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will ensure that reservation in jobs for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes is scrapped if the BJP is voted to power in Uttar Pradesh.
Terming the Samajwadi Party (SP) "corrupt" and a "complete failure", the former Chief Minister of the poll-bound state warned the people against the Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance.
At an election rally in Harsaanv village near Ghaziabad, bordering the national capital, Mayawati urged the Muslim voters not to forget that it was under the Akhilesh Yadav government that the Muzaffarnagar riot and the Dadri lynching took place.
Alleging mass-scale transfers based on caste considerations and money changing hands, Mayawati said the people of the state were fed up with the incumbent government, which had been protected all through by the BJP-led government at the Centre.
The BSP leader also came down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to demonetise high-value currency notes and said that the people had been put to inconvenience because of the move.
People, she predicted, would boot out the SP and also teach a lesson to the BJP in the state assembly elections, scheduled between February 11 and March 8.
