No difficulty for soldiers in charging mobile phones, parliament told
New Delhi, Feb 3 (IANS) Armed forces personnel are not facing any difficulties in charging their mobile phones and all communication equipment in use comes with integral power banks and generators, Parliament was told on Friday.

"All official mobile phones and communications equipment of the armed forces operating over difficult terrain come with their integral power banks and generators. No difficulty in their charging has been faced or reported," Minister of State for Defence Subhash Bhamre told the Lok Sabha in a written reply to a question from five MPs - Jayakumar Jayavardhan Dhananjay Bhimrao Mahadik, Heena Vijaykumar Gavit, Vijaysinh Mohite Patil and Rajeev Shankarrao Satav.

Bhamre said a facility was also being provided to soldiers for charging their personal mobile phones under the unit/sub unit arrangements.

 

"...no such issue of lack of charging facility has come to light," he said, adding all power banks, generators, batteries etc were suited to the rugged climate and terrain.

"All power banks, batteries, generator and charging sets are suitably ruggedised as per the stipulated military standards to ensure their operatability in all-weather conditions and rigours of terrain," he added.
