Union budget disappointing: Himachal CM

Shimla, Feb 1 (IANS) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Wednesday termed the union budget as disappointing and disheartening for the people of the state.

He however welcomed the step to reduce the limit for cash donation to the political parties from Rs 20,000 to Rs 2,000.

"It seems to be the budget of mere promises and commitments in which interests of the common man had been completely ignored," he said in a statement.

The Chief Minister said the people of the country were expecting some respite after passing through the phase of hardship due to demonetisation process but the central government had failed to come up to their expectations.

He said there no major announcement for the farmers and unemployed youth and the budget overall had failed to create an impact on the masses.
