Aizwal, Feb 1 (IANS) Aizawl FC came back to their winning ways in the I-League as they defeated DSK Shivajians 1-0 here on Wednesday.
Brandon Vanlalremdika, who came on from the bench at the stroke of the hour mark, scored for the hosts to clinch the match.
Both teams started the match on the good note. In the fifth minute, DSK Shivajians were awarded a free-kick from 40 yards out, but they failed to utilise the opportunity.
Many shots from both the teams failed to find the back of the net.
In spite of the moves made by both sides to change the score-line in their favour, the first half ended goalless.
The second half did not offer much goal-mouth action either, and play was concentrated in the midfield for most of the time.
But in the last 10 minutes of the game, the hosts became more fluent and as a result super-sub Brandon converted a half-chance to register Aizawl's fourth win of the season under coach Khalid Jamil, which was also their third consecutive win at home.
