Los Angeles, Feb 1 (IANS) Actress Amy Schumer has defended her cousin and Democratic leader Chuck Schumer after US President Donald Trump accused him of shedding "fake tears" in denouncing his immigration ban.
The comedian and actress took to Instagram on Tuesday to defend the New York senator, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
She posted: "I know Chuck Schumer and he cannot act, trust me. He can barely smile on cue. He was hurt for those people and all the people facing such unconstitutional injustice."
Chuck came under fire from Trump after he slammed the US President's executive order temporarily banning all citizens from seven Muslim-majority nations. In several televised appearances, including a press conference where he choked back tears, Chuck called the order "mean-spirited" and "un-American".
In response, Trump accused Chuck of shedding "fake tears" and questioned if he had an acting coach.
