Chennai, Jan 24 (IANS) Actress Srushti Dange, who has predominantly worked in Tamil films, says her foray into Malayalam filmdom with Mohanlal-starrer upcoming war drama "1971: Beyond Border" is the perfect start to the year for her.
"I was first contacted for this project last year in October. After initial talks, I didn't hear back from the team. Director Ravi contacted me recently and signed me on. I was signed as I was told I have an innocent face," Srushti told IANS.
Being directed by Major Ravi, the film also stars Allu Sirish and Arunoday Singh.
"Although this is a war film, it features a small love track and I'm part of it. My character starts and ends with a love letter. I have already started shooting and I have been welcomed with such warmth. It's lovely being part of a new industry. This is the perfect start to the year," she said.
In the film, she plays Sirish's love interest.
She is also excited about her look in the film as it will go with the era the story is set in.
"It's set in the 1970s and my look will be unlike anything I have sported so far," she said.
