New Delhi, Jan 21 (IANS) Buddhist spiritual leader the Dalai Lama on Saturday said circumstances force one to become a terrorist and sometimes it is the believers who create trouble.
"Circumstances create terrorists. They are normal people. An act of violence leads to counter-violence and it continues like a vicious circle. This leads to terrorism, the Dalai Lama said here at an event.
"Sometimes believers are also trouble makers," he said laughing.
They think their religion is best, the monk said, adding that leads to problems.
"We have to understand that this is not how any human problem can be solved. Peace of mind is essential as it brings good health and makes your family life better,"
"We've to think seriously about humanity," he said.
"Like hygiene of the body is important for good physical condition, hygiene of the emotions is very important for mental health," he said.
"We are all social animals. Hence, our happiness depends on the rest of the society. We should make more people aware about such values."
