U.S. BURBANK SAG AWARDS STATUETTE PRODUCTION

(170117) -- BURBANK, Jan. 17, 2017 (Xinhua) -- A worker colors the bronze statuette by using high heat during the production process of casting the bronze statuette for the 23rd annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards in Burbank, California, the United States, on Jan 17, 2017. The statuette, known as "The Actor", was originally designed by Jim Heimann and Jim Barrett, and sculpted by Edward Saenz. It is 16 inches (40.6 cm) tall and weighs 12 pounds (5.4 kg). Since the 1st SAG Awards in 1995, the statuettes have been produced by the American Fine Arts Foundry in Burbank. The American Fine Arts Foundry has made nearly 1100 statuettes in total. For this year 60 more statuettes have been casted. The 23rd SAG Award ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on Jan. 29 this year. (Xinhua/Zhang Chaoqun)more
