Islamabad, Jan 16 (IANS) Former President and Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has left for Dubai from where he will fly to Washington to attend the inauguration ceremony of US president-elect Donald Trump.
He left for Dubai on Sunday evening after returning to Pakistan last month following 18 months in a self-imposed exile, Dawn news reported.
Besides attending the swearing-in ceremony, Zardari will undergo a medical check-up during his stay in the US.
According to a report in the Daily Times, Trump had invited the former President for his inauguration which will take place on Saturday.
Zardari would be accompanied by a delegation, which would include former Pakistani ambassador to US Sherry Rehman, former interior minister Rehman Malik and other party leaders and ministers.
