'Constitutional post holders should respect other such post holders'
Kolkata, Dec 20 (IANS) In an obvious counter to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's incessant salvos against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on demonetisation, BJP's leader Nalin Kohli on Tuesday said attacking fellow constitutional position holders amounted to dishonouring one's own post.

"When someone holds a constitutional post and at the same time dishonours the dignity of other constitutional posts, he or she is dishonouring his/her own constitutional post. There should be a mutual respect towards constitutional offices," said Kohli, the national spokesperson of BJP.

"There are two types of politicians in the country. Majority of political parties and leaders of the states are doing politics of development and fighting on these. Some are entitled to fight on allegations. That is their concern," Kohli said without taking Banerjee's name.

Banerjee on Monday dubbed the Narendra Modi government as 'deaf and dumb' and targeted the Prime Minister saying the one-time 'chaiwala' had become a "crorepati" 'Paytm-wala'.

"If Mamata ji feels that Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji is crorepati, she should file a Right to Information (RTI) application," Kohli said at an interactive session organised by MCCI.

"If she feels the central government is not doing anything, then, I say, in terms of administration, the Bengal government is not good. Everyone is aware of the development work undertaken by the central government. Why has it not been brought to the notice of Bengal Chief Minister," he asked.
