Bilbao (Spain), Dec 20 (IANS) Mikel San Jose's goal in stoppage time gave Athletic Bilbao a 2-1 victory in their La Liga clash over a Celta Vigo side that deserved better.
Athletic, who have lost only one of 10 matches at home this season, climb to 26 points from 16 matches and sit in seventh place in the Spanish top football division, reports Efe news agency.
Monday's outcome leaves 13th-place Celta with 21 points.
The hosts began with a lot of energy, but Celta dominated possession for the first half-hour, though they couldn't translate their superiority into a goal until nine minutes into the second half, when Aspas made it 1-0 for the visitors.
Celta pressed in vain for the vital second goal and Athletic equalized in the 82nd minute, as Aduriz converted from the spot after Roncaglia brought down I?aki Williams in the area.
The winner for Athletic came in the 93rd minute thanks to second half substitute San Jose.
