Ranchi, Dec 19 (IANS) Two Maoist guerrillas were arrested after a gun battle with security forces in Jharkhand's Latehar district on Monday, the state police said.
The gun battle between the forces and the Maoist rebels took place at Kasmar village under the jurisdiction of the Herhanj police station of Latehar district, around 140 km from the state capital, according to the police.
The police seized one AK-47 rifle, one Insas rifle, one local-made rifle, live cartridges, three mobile phones and Rs 16,880 in cash.
Maoist guerrillas have been active in 18 of the 24 districts of the state.
