Ankara, Dec 17 (IANS) A bus transporting soldiers was hit by an explosion in central Turkey that killed at least 13 of them, the Turkish General Staff stated on Saturday.
The explosion near Erciyes University in Kayseri also left nearly 50 injured, Xinhua reported.
The blast hit the bus as it drove past a car believed to be packed with explosives.
Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Veysi Kaynak said the blast was a car bomb, and it targeted the bus carrying soldiers.
The Turkish General Staff said in the statement that the wounded were immediately shifted to local hospitals. Some civilians were also injured in the attack.
