Trailer of ‘The Change’ dealing with demonetisation out

Mumbai, Dec 15 (ISNS) The trailer of Sameer Khan's short film "The Change: Its Just the beginning..." based on the country's hottest topic - demonetisation, was released over the digital platform on Thursday.

The film features TV actors like Drashti Dhami and Rajeev Thakur and actor/model Shawar Ali.

"The film is made on five demonetisation based stories from different lifestyles whose end is similar," said writer-director Sameer Khan.

Regarding the casting, he said: "Drashti is a very dear friend of mine. When I told her about the film, she said I will do it for you. She had a faith on me, so I had to live up to it. Same for Rajeev Thakur also."

He further added, "It is a 20 minute film. It explores relationships like of a businessman couple, a father with his daughter who is going to get married, between a young couple, and also between a maid and her lady boss."

On the reason to make a film on this topic, he said: "When this decision was announced, I was sitting with my friends, I thought I can make a film on it. I kept writing and finally it came out very nice. I am not giving any message to (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi ji. I am just showing the cinematic version of current reality as a filmmaker."

"We are keeping a special screening of the film on December 21. On December 22, we will release it digitally through our channel," he added.

"The Change" has been produced by Color 9 Entertainment & Arti Puri. The music is by Sajid-Wajid.
