Kolkata, Dec 15 (IANS) Amidst demonetisation row, the Reserve Bank of India on Thursday reviewed the current economic situation, global and domestic challenges and other specific areas of operations in its 562nd central board meet here.
The meeting was chaired by the apex bank's governor Urjit Patel.
"The Board reviewed the current economic situation, global and domestic challenges and other specific areas of operations of the Reserve Bank of India," a statement said.
After the board meet, Patel met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and state government officials to discuss "region specific issues".
Besides RBI's Deputy Governors R. Gandhi, S.S. Mundra and N.S.Vishwanathan, the other directors of the central board, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Bharat Doshi and Sudhir Mankad were present at the meeting.
The meeting was also attended by Government nominee director on the central board, Anjuly Chib Duggal, Secretary, Financial Services in the Finance Ministry.
