Pakistan gets first organ transplant centre
Islamabad, Dec 15 (IANS) Pakistan has got its first organ transplant centre at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) that will provide facilities for multi-organ transplants, including for liver, intestine, pancreas, bone marrow and cornea.

The 14-storey facility, inaugurated on Wednesday, is designed to meet the future challenges of transplantation science, the Dawn reported on Thursday.

Spread over an area of 250,000 square feet, the 100-bed transplant centre has intensive care units, transplant wards and a state-of-the-art modern operation theatre -- all under one roof.
