Dubai, Dec 15 (IANS/WAM) Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are holding a two-day workshop on nuclear medicine at a Dubai Hospital in cooperation with the Dubai Health Authority.
The workshop, which was inaugurated by Ahmad Ibrahim Saif Kalban, CEO of the Hospitals Services Sector at DHA, saw the experts review national guidelines for cancer screening through the utilisation of imaging procedures.
IAEA experts at the workshop spoke about the latest techniques in nuclear medicine while multiple local speakers also contributed with educational and training activities.
Jamila Al Suwaidi, consultant in radiation at the Department of Medical Education at the DHA, said that the workshops include training in the use of the most sophisticated techniques in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging for diagnosis and treatment of cancer diseases.
The course, which is being held at Dubai Hospital, includes participants from the UAE, Jordan, Iraq, Oman, Yemen, Lebanon and Syria.
