Syrian 'Twitter girl' safe amid heavy bombing
Damascus, Dec 7 (IANS) The seven-year-old Bana al-Abed, whose tweets about bombing in Syria's Aleppo brought international attention, has fled her home amid intense fighting. But her father said she and her family was safe.

According to a report in Telegraph on Tuesday that cited Abed's tweet, confirmed the news of her well-being.

"Hello my friends, how are you? I am fine. I am getting better without medicine with too much bombing. I miss you. - Bana," she tweeted.

As Syrian government forces neared their home recently, the family fled for life and the tweets started to appear less.

The account on Sunday tweeted: "We are sure the army is capturing us now. We will see each other another day dear world. Bye.- Fatemah."

There was no update for the next 24-hours, prompting her followers to launch a hashtag campaign "WhereIsBana".

A tweet on Monday night read: "Under attack. Nowhere to go, every minute feels like death. Pray for us. Goodbye - Fatemah."

Abed had been posting, with her mother's help, heart-rending and emotionally strong tweets about life in the war-torn Syrian city of Aleppo.

Abed and her mother Fatemah have garnered more than 211,000 followers since late September as they tweet regularly about war in Aleppo.
