Islamabad, Dec 7 (IANS) The Pakistan's Khyber-Pakthunkwa Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution seeking voting rights for the transgender community in the province.
The resolution moved by Amna Sardar of Pakistan Muslim League-N, stated that the federal government should be pursued to contact the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for giving voting rights to transgenders, Dawn reported.
"Recommendations should be forwarded to give transgender rights of franchise and granting them a respectable status in the society," said Sardar.
