Vijayawada, Dec 6 (IANS) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said the country had lost a good leader in the death of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa.
Naidu led the state in observing a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the AIADMK leader who died on Monday night.
He termed her death as a huge loss to Tamil Nadu. He called her a fighter who was in the forefront to help the poor through welfare programmes.
"She used to speak Telugu fluently," said Naidu, who recalled that Jayalalithaa had telephoned him after Maoists made a bid on his life in 2003.
