Chandigarh, Dec 5 (IANS) Haryana Finance Minister Abhimanyu said on Monday that there was no impact of demonetisation on the revenue of the state and there was no fall in registration of properties as well.
"There has been no fall in the registration of properties in various tehsils of the state. The cash situation is getting easy by the day. Cash crunch is no more visible. Steps are being taken to make Haryana first cashless state in the country," he told media here.
Seeking cooperation from people in Haryana, the minister said that all receipts and payments in government would be made totally cashless.
Abhimanyu said a committee of administrative secretaries had been formed to seek suggestions from all departments and work on executing all modules to make Haryana a cashless state.
Haryana has a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government since October 2014 headed by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had, on Nov 8, announced demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes. This has led to chaos and long queues at banks as people tried to get notes exchanged and withdraw cash from their accounts.
