Guwahati, Nov 29 (IANS) A leading educational group has come forward to help the poor but meritorious students of the country's northeastern states.
Managing Director of St. Soldier Group of Institutions, Manhar Arora on Tuesday announced the Young Scholars Reward Scheme (YSRS).
Under the scheme, the institute would select 100 students from the northeast and they would be given concessions upto 100 per cent for their studies at St. Soldier Group of Institutions, based in Jalandhar, Punjab.
"St. Soldier Group will give absolutely free education to 10 students while we are going to waive 75 percent tuition fee to 20 students. In addition to this, we are going to give 50 percent tuition fee to 30 students and another waiver of 25 percent in tuition fee to 40 students," Arora said.
He added that students for all categories including reserved categories, who are willing to pursue higher education but cannot afford it due to expense can avail this scheme by applying online.
"St. Soldier Group of Institutions will not charge any fee from the SC/ST/OBC and minority classes under the eligibility of post-matric scholarships offered by the government," he said.
He said that the parents and students, who want to avail Young Scholars Reward Scheme and scholarships can apply online at www.stsoldiergroup.in, or can call 7009744587 before December 31 this year.
