BJP Mahila Morcha march in support of demonetisation

New Delhi, Nov 28 (IANS) Activists of the BJP Delhi unit's women wing on Monday held a march here in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's move against black money through demonetisation.

Over a hundred of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha activists participated in the march in the posh Connaught Place market in the city centre hailing demonetisation, and slamming the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for opposing it.

Raising slogans like 'Janta Kale Dhan Ke Khilaf, Congress AAP kale dhan ke saath', they also distributed pamphlets among shopkeepers and public, especially women.

"After abolition of black money, the greatest beneficiary will be the common man because the economic system will become healthy, inflation will decline and wasteful expenditure on marriages will stop," said Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha President Kamaljeet Sehrawat.

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP unit chief Satish Upadhyay said: "Traders are ready for a new system. Black money was never needed by the traders, it was created due to the corrupt officers of the various tax departments.... now the traders believe that the corruption and black money will come to an end after the initiative of the Prime Minister."

The protest march came on the day of a Bharat Bandh called by the Left parties and the "Aakrosh Divas" (Anger Day) called by other opposition parties against the November 8 announcement of demonetising 500 and 1,000 rupee notes, which has led to a cash crunch across the country.
