Paris, Nov 28 (IANS) Former French Prime Minister Francois Fillon led in the conservative primary runoff for the 2017 presidential election on Sunday, according to the partial results.
According to the partial results announced by the committee of the conservative primary runoff, Fillon gained 68.2 per cent of the votes in the decisive round against 31.8 per cent for his contender Alain Juppe, Xinhua news agency reported.
Voting opened at 10,228 polling stations across France at 8 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m. local time.
Fillon will represent the conservative party to run for the presidency in the 2017 election.
