Damascus, Nov 28 (IANS) As many as 3,000 civilians have fled rebel-held areas in the city of Aleppo over the past 24 hours, a monitor group reported on Sunday.
The civilians fled the rebel-held areas in eastern Aleppo toward government-controlled ones in the western part of the city, Xinhua news agency cited the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
This comes as the Syrian Army has taken three important neighbourhoods in eastern Aleppo over the past 24 hours, a move that has succeeded in dividing rebel-held areas in eastern Aleppo.
Earlier in the day, state news agency SANA said 1,500 civilians were evacuated out of rebel-held areas in eastern Aleppo through routes previously identified by the Syrian Army, which has repeatedly called on the rebels to allow civilians to leave.
