Panaji, Nov 25 (IANS) Ace designer and Padma Shri awardee Wendell Rodricks has collaborated with the Serendipity Arts Festival 2016, which is set to take place from December 16-23 here.
Rodricks will be exhibiting Ten Histories: Goan Costume, which is an amalgamation of 10 objects related to Goan costumes, read a statement.
The objects that will be on display include historical items, Shantadurga sari, Narakasura effigy, Kunbi sari, gold ornament, Pano Bhaju garment, women's wear lingerie, Christian bride, bangles, jewellery, Muslim turban and Edwin Pinto shoes, old shoes or zapats and a Buddhist sculpture.
The designer is presently working on converting his heritage home into the Moda Goa Museum in his native village of Colvale. The bungalow is in the process of being converted into a museum of Goan costumes.
Each object aims at recounting Goan mythology, Gods, people, customs, traditions, festivals and folklore.
"I am excited to join hands with Serendipity Arts Festival to showcase the history of Goan fashion and costumes. The presentation attempts to share the story and history behind all things Goan. It will also give a glimpse of what people can aim to see at the Moda Goa Museum that I'm putting together," Rodricks said.
The objects are part of a 16-year collection that are a small window of what the Moda Goa Museum will display when it opens in 2018 end.
