38 couples married in 11th mass wedding in Abu Dhabi


Abu Dhabi, Nov 25 (IANS) Thirty-eight couples were married at the 11th mass wedding held in Madinat Zayed City here in the presence of senior government officials.

The mass wedding was held on Thursday night under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region.

Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nayhan, who attended the wedding ceremony, praised President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for supporting mass weddings to help the citizens build stable families, WAM reported.

He also praised all relevant efforts being made by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed.

The ceremony was organised by the Court of the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and was sponsored by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Group.

Among others who attended the ceremony were Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Minister of State and CEO of ADNOC Group Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Chairman of Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport Owaidha Murshid Al Marar, Under-Secretary at the Court of the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region Mohammed Hamad Al Mazrouei, dignitaries and families of the newlyweds.
