New Delhi, Nov 23 (IANS) The Delhi unit of the Congress on Wednesday protested against demonetisation and said 'Jan Aakrosh Diwas' (public resentment day) will be observed on the issue across the country on November 28.
Hundreds of protesting Congress workers raised slogans against the Centre, like 'Modi-ji se ek sawal, kaise laye aata daal' and 'Befikra hai dhanna seth, garib ghum rahe khali pet'.
Addressing party workers, Congress Delhi unit chief Ajay Maken said: "We will observe the Jan Aakrosh Diwas against demonetisation across the country."
Maken said the party's fight is for the poor and marginalised people who have been hit the most.
The government had, on November 8, spiked high-denomination currency of Rs 500 and Rs 1, 000 to "curb black money and corruption".
Maken said on Wednesday that at least 70 people have died across the country while standing in bank queues.
