Panaji, Nov 20 (IANS) Internationally acclaimed South Korean film director and writer Im Kwon Taek, who is being conferred with the prestigious lifetime achievement award at IFFI 2016, on Sunday said that he is a fan of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and films like "3 Idiots" and "Slumdog Millionaire".
Taek, who is regarded as father of the Korean cinema, has a career which has spanned across five decades, during which he has directed more than 100 films.
"I like Shah Rukh Khan. Among movies made in India, I liked '3 Idiots' and 'Slumdog Millionnaire'," Taek told a press conference on Sunday.
Taek also said that his cinema automatically has traces of Indian influence, especially when he makes films with Buddhism as a theme.
"I get inspired by Indian thought when I make films on Buddha, Buddhism," he said, and added that he was looking forward to working on co-productions with Indian filmmakers.
