New Delhi, Nov 19 (IANS) The India International Trade Fair which was thrown open for the general public on Saturday attracted over one lakh visitors, an official statement said.
The increase in visitors at Pragati Maidan is due to reduced ticket prices from Rs 120 to Rs 100 on weekends by the India Trade Promotion Organisation and customer friendly initiatives such as availability of swipe machines and provision of e-wallets.
The State Bank of India and Axis Bank have provided 175 and 43 swipe machines respectively. Paytm and Free-Charge have provided 672 and 260 e-wallets respectively.
Easy access to these cashless transactions led to efficient business, it added.
Adequate arrangements have been made for the large crowd expected on Sunday, the statement said.
The first five days of the India International Trade Fair, which started on November 14, were reserved for business visitors.
This year, as many as 7,000 participants are participating in the fair. South Korea is the partner country while Belarus is the focus country.
