Los Angeles, Nov 19 (IANS) Elizabeth Gilbert, popular for her book "Eat, Pray, Love", is looking forward to the new romantic chapter of her life. The author says she has found love.
The author took the stage to talk about her travel experiences at the second day of the ongoing Airbnb Open 2016 here on Friday.
When an audience member asked her what is she most excited about in life at present -- which was the question she asked everyone she met during a four-month tour for her book "Big Magic" -- Gilbert candidly said: "I met a girl. I am in love."
Though Gilbert refrained from taking a name, it is believed that the love message was directed towards her female best friend Rayya Elias.
Gilbert separated from her husband of nine years Jose Nunes for Elias.
She had announced her decision via a Facebook post sharing how Elias's battle with pancreatic cancer made her realize how much she values her position in her life.
Gilbert made it big with her 2006 memoir "Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across, Italy, India and Indonesia" -- which narrates her experiences during her travel after her divorce with first husband. The book got a cinematic translation in 2010 with actress Julia Roberts in the lead role.
At the event, Gilbert threw light on how she tried hard to imbibe the ethos that she preaches in her life.
"I had the audacity to lay down a manifesto about creative living...I got this incredible anxiety where I had to make sure I am really living this ethic that I am preaching to people, that I am totally smoking what I am selling."
Gilbert then shared how the experiment worked, sometimes back fired. But what she took out of it was the experience of "sudden life meeting life" with the person you just met.
