Kolkata, Nov 13 (IANS) Nitin Kumar Sinha toppled top seed Vishnu Vardhan in the final to clinch the Asian Tennis Tour title here on Sunday.
Nitin won the match 6-7(10-12), 7-6(7-3), 30-15, when his opponent conceded the tie in the third set due to cramps.
The local boy who beat V.M. Ranjeet in the quarters held serve with Vishnu till 3-3 before the latter broke Nitin to take a 4-3 lead.
The gritty Nitin then broke back immediately to level at 4-4.
The first set went on to tiebreak with Nitin going 5-2 ahead but double faulted at 5-3 and let Vishnu come back and eventually win the tie break at 12-10.
In the second set Nitin broke in the first game and went on holding his serve till Vishnu broke back to make it 5-5.
In the second set tie break with Nitin 4-3 up, Vishnu started cramping and eventually lost the set and conceded the match in the third set unable to carry on further.
