MP Congress men serve glucose, tea to people in bank queues

Bhopal, Nov 13 (IANS) Much to the relief of those standing in serpentine queues outside banks and ATMs to exchange, deposit or withdraw money on Sunday, enthusiastic Congress workers served them water, glucose and tea at various places in Madhya Pradesh.

They put up stalls and tents to dole out water, glucose or tea in the vicinity of several bank branches and ATM outlets in many towns and cities of the state.

While the Congress activists were offering the people these items free of cost to sustain long waiting hours, they were also seen helping the elderly and illiterate people by filling in forms for them for the banking transactions.

Banks were open also on Sunday to ease the money crisis arising out of demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes, withdrawn from the circulation by the Narendra Modi government as part of its drive to weed out black money from the system as also to break the back of terror networks being funded in these currencies.
