Mumbai, Nov 12 (IANS) Director-producer-writer Hrishikesh Pandey, who has worked on several social campaigns, says filmmakers reflect the truths of the society.
"Filmmakers are mirror of the society. I take it as a responsibility to act upon the social issues. I am trying to bring small-small social issue in a video-friendly manner. I hope it can also be carried by an individual to help in our nation's development," Hrishikesh told IANS.
Hrishikesh's production house Hribom has created numerous videos already, highlighting several issues, like song "School chale hum" for the Madhya Pradesh government, and "Respect woman" highlighting eve-teasing and women empowerment.
"I started with a video song 'School chale hum' -- the song was crooned by singer Shaan. Recently I did another video song 'Vanar sena' -- about a major social issue of open defecation. We also started this campaign in Indore," he added.
Hrishikesh has directed a video song "Vanar sena", which is based on the concept and story by P. Narahari who is an IAS officer.
Hrishikesh has also developed "Swachch Indore", a song sung by Dev Negi. This song has been made for the Municipal Corporation of Indore on similar lines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachch Bharat Abhiyan.
