Demonetization ill-planned and badly executed, says Akhilesh

Lucknow, Nov 12 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday trained his guns yet again on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes, terming it a very ill-executed scheme.

Pointing out how the poor man and the common people were being put to trouble standing in long queues and still not getting their own hard earned money, Yadav while speaking at a media event said that the whole world seems to be standing in lines, giving up their work, daily chores and even skipping meals.

The scheme against black money is not only badly planned but rolled out in an even worse manner, he contended. He also trashed allegations against his government and said that the Samajwadi Party (SP) government had ushered in all-round development in the state while other parties only made promises.

"We have started Metro Rail projects in four cities, are rolling out a scheme to give free smart phones to people, given laptops to meritorious students and have even helped the farmers, the small-time traders and created an environment of positivity," he said.

There is electricity for 16 hours in villages and in cities the power supply is round-the-clock, he claimed while detailing the achievements of his government.
