Lucknow, Nov 10 (IANS) Seven State Bank of India employees, checking availability of new currency notes at the bank's branches in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur city were killed on Thursday when the van they were travelling in hit a container truck, the police said. The van driver was also killed.
The employees were on their way back to Lucknow after the inspection of branches when the accident occurred. Under the impact of the collision, the van fell in a roadside ditch, killing all aboard it.
It took the police more than two hours to cut open the mangled remains of the vehicle and extract the dead persons out of it. the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination and senior bank officials informed of the accident, an official told IANS.
