New Delhi, Nov 9 (IANS) A court here on Wednesday fixed November 23 for considering a civil suit against President Pranab Mukherjee's book "Turbulent Years 1980-1996".
Additional District Judge Vineeta Goyal set November 23 for considering the private complaint against the second volume of the President's memoirs, after hearing the complainant, advocate Vishnu Jain, who alleged that the book contains some misconceptions.
Jain requested the court to issue directions for deletion of alleged objectionable details from the book and also issue a public notice of the deletion.
Telling the court that the President's book says that "the demolition of Babri Masjid was an act of absolute perfidy which should make all Indians hang their hands in shame", he contended that the Allahabad High Court has referred the structure as disputed but the President has made to believe that the demolished structure was a "mosque" and that "Hindus" were responsible for the "intolerant act".
Jain also alleged that the book made bald averments against Hindus and in favour of Babri Masjid.
He also said that the book contains a wrong misconception that it was the Rajiv Gandhi government's order to unlock the disputed structure but "in reality the doors were opened on a local court's order".
