New Delhi, Nov 8 (IANS) Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Tuesday said that the frequency of services of Maitree Express operated between Kolkata and Dhaka, Bangladesh capital city, will be increased from November 11.
"Maitree Express from Kolkata to Dhaka will run four times a week from November 11," Prabhu said after flagging off the Gorakhpur-Badshahnagar Express train through video conferencing here.
Currently, the Kolkata-Dhaka service is operated thrice a week.
According to a senior railway official, the decision to increase the frequency of Maitree Express was taken at an inter-governmental railway meeting between India and Bangladesh held from August 8 to 10, 2016.
The Maitree Express were started in 2008.
