Turin, Nov 6 (IANS) Juventus director Beppe Marotta on Sunday hinted that the Italian football champions may sign Boca Juniors' young midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur next summer.
Juventus have a first refusal option to sign the 19-year-old Uruguayan as part of the deal in which they sold veteran striker Carlos Tevez to the Argentine club.
That right expires next April and Marotta believes it is highly likely they will activate it to boost ther midfield next season.
"We have an option on Bentancur that we can exercise by April. It is very probable we will do that," Narotta was quoted as saying by football-italia.net.
It has been reported that Juventus will have to pay Boca Juniors 9.5 million euros ($10.6 million) to sign Bentacur, who has been playing at the Buenos Aires-based club since 2015.
Marotta also avoided commenting on the media reports saying Juventus intend to sign Paris Saint-Germain's Italian midfielder Marco Verratti.
"Marco Verratti? I have nothing to say, he is a very good player," Marotta said.
