New Delhi, Nov 4 (IANS) The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has taken cognizance of the reported incident of rape of a 13-year-old girl at an ashram school in Maharashtra' Buldhana district and asked the District Magistrate to investigate and submit a detailed report within a week.
NCPCR, which comes under the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development, has also sought a copy of FIR, medical legal report and the statements recorded under Section 164 in the Code Of Criminal Procedure.
In addition, the commission has asked for information on action taken against the accused, the present status of the victim and action taken for safety of the child.
It has also inquired about the reasons for not taking action on earlier complaint of the student, whether any such incident happened in the school previously and steps taken to protect students against such abuse.
