Indian horror films have scary element, says Rajniesh Dugall

Mumbai, Nov 4 (IANS) Actor Rajniesh Duggall, who is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming romantic-horror film "Saasein", says that Indian horror films have a scary element to them.

Asked if "Saasein" would change the misconception of Indian films not being scary, Rajniesh told IANS: "We have had huge hits earlier like 'Bhoot', 'Raaz' and '1920', which has proven wrong those who say that Indian horror films are not that scary. There have been great responses to these films. 'Saasein' is one of them."

The actor added "it's for the viewer to see and then believe it."

Asked if Indian horror films can be compared to the ones in the west, he said: "I wouldn't divide it into Indian or English horror...I would say if it is scary then it is scary universally if you cut out the language then its scary to anyone. It could be a 'Conjuring' for India or it could be a '1920', 'Raaz' or 'Saasein' anywhere outside.

"Saansein", directed by Rajiv S. Ruia, also stars Sonarika Bhadoria, Hiten Tejwani and Neetha Shetty. It is releasing on November 11.
