Bhubaneswar, Nov 2 (IANS) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday announced that his government would provide loan at one per cent interest to Self Help Groups (SHGs) in the state.
Addressing a public meeting in Keonjhar district, the Chief Minister said the SHGs can avail up to Rs 3 lakh loan at one per cent interest.
He said the state government has taken several initiatives to protect the interests of women.
The government has made provisions to issue land records and ration cards in the name of women. It also provides one per cent relaxation on stamp duty during registration of land, the Chief Minister added.
Affirming his commitment to the development of farmers, Patnaik said the government is providing agriculture loan to farmers at one per cent interest.
The Chief Minister on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of a government medical college in Keonjhar district for which the state government would spend Rs 300 crore.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Chief Minister inaugurated various projects in Jajpur district.
