London, Nov 2 (PTI) Veteran actors Ron Howard, Cindy Williams and Pam Dawber are set to feature on the TV revamp of "The Odd Couple" as a tribute to the late Garry Marshall.
Producer/director Marshall helped to develop the original 1970s comedy, and returned to the franchise as an executive consultant for its reboot last year.
Now, three months after his death, the stars of some of his biggest TV hits will join forces to honour Marshall's memory on a special episode of the Matthew Perry revamp, reported Contactmusic.
Marshall made a guest appearance on the US series in April, portraying Perry's father, and on November 7, the former "Friends" star will mourn the passing of his character's father by reconnecting with his old friends.
Among the special guests will be Happy Days cast members Howard, Marion Ross, Anson Williams, and Don Most, Dawber from Mork & Mindy, and Lavern & Shirley's Cindy Williams and Penny Marshall, Garry's sister.
A statement released by executive producer Bob Daily read, "The writing staff and everyone on 'The Odd Couple' reboot was thrilled when Garry Marshall joined us as a producer.
"He was a kind, generous presence on the set, and we loved him dearly. And when we lost him, we knew we had to do something to honor his legacy - something that, like Garry's work, was both heartfelt and zany. We are so grateful that the stars of these classic shows are able to join us in honoring him."
Marshall died in July from pneumonia complications after suffering a stroke. He was 81.
