Ranchi, Oct 31 (IANS) Suspected Maoists abducted and shot dead two persons in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district on Monday, the state police said.
According to the police, Maoists belonging to Jharkhand Prastuti Committee (JPC), a splinter group of CPI-Maoist, abducted two persons at Kusumbha village of Hazaribagh district.
The killed persons have been identified as Rupesh Yadav, 36, and Degan Turi, 40.
Both were abducted at gun point when they were gambling on Diwali night with their friends. Their bodies were found on Monday morning. Their hands were tied and bodies were ridden with bullets.
What caused the killings is unclear.
Maoists are active in 18 of the 24 districts of the state.
