Ghaziabad, Oct 17 (IANS) Deepak Kumar, a 2005 batch IPS officer, on Monday took charge as the Senior Superintendent of Police of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.
He told the media that his priorities were to improve the traffic system, sensitise the police against crime against woman and to make the police as public friendly as possible.
Deepak Kumar was Additional Superintendent of Police in Ghaziabad from September 2007 to January 2009. He was awarded the Gallantry award by the President in January 2012.
Deepak Kumar had earlier been the Senior Superintendent of Police of Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Rai Bareily, Allahabad, Pratapgarh and Baghpat and a commandant in the Provincial Armed Constabulary.
