Rs 4 lakh looted from trader in Ghaziabad


Ghaziabad, Oct 12 (IANS) A trader was looted of Rs 4 lakh at gunpoint from three men here as he got out of his car to go to his shop on Wednesday, police said.

The incident occurred on Ramte Ram Road under the Kotwali police station.

As Anil Arora, proprietor of SS Traders in Kirana Mandi, parked his car near Raka Park and got out, three robbers approached him, one of them put put a pistol to his head and demanded the bag containing the cash.

Arora tried to resist but gave up as they threatened to shoot him. Seizing the bag, the robbers fled.

After the incident, the trader was taken by his colleagues to the police station where a complaint was lodged.

Traders' union leaders also met Superintendent of Police, City Salman Taj, who assured them of a fast probe.

"We have registered a case of robbery. Two teams have been assigned to track the criminals," Taj said.
