Los Angeles, Oct 11 (IANS) A biopic is being developed on the life of late Brittany Maynard, a proponent of medical aid in dying.
Maynard's husband Dan Diaz will executive produce the film, reports variety.com.
Maynard died in November 2014 at her home in Portland. She had been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and had moved from California to Oregon, due to that state's death with dignity law.
She also partnered with the Compassion & Choices organisation to create the Brittany Maynard Fund, which seeks to legalise aid in dying in states where it is illegal.
The day after her death, CNN published Maynard's essay "My right to death with dignity at 29", in which she explained that she wished to end her own life due to her expected physical deterioration, according to variety.com.
Before her death, Maynard recorded video testimony for proposed medical aid in dying legislation in her home in California. The legislation was signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown in October last year and went into effect on June 9.
