New Delhi, Oct 11 (IANS) The BJP on Tuesday alleged that the Delhi government spent taxpayers money on advertisements about the Parent-Teacher meetings in schools, saying an event management company was behind it.
"The advertisements by the (Arvind) Kejriwal government about the Parent and Teacher meetings of Delhi government schools show that some event management company is working behind the Delhi government," Delhi BJP General Secretary Ashish Sood said in a statement.
"Parent and Teacher meetings are a normal process in schools but the way in which the government has spent crores of rupees on advertisements, it seems the government is trying to show that the education system will be reformed with the help of these meetings," the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said.
Sood's remarks came following the mega Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) organised by the Delhi government across nearly 1,000 schools run by it on July 30.
"Even today many government schools are run under tents; there is no drinking water, sufficient number of teachers and proper arrangement for the security of students," the BJP leader added.
