Was snubbed by 'Jurassic World' producers: Sam Neill

London, Oct 9 (PTI) Actor Sam Neill says he never received a call from "Jurassic World" producers despite his earlier starring role in the beloved dinosaur franchise.

Sam played Dr Alan Grant, a paleontologist asked to inspect the prehistoric theme park, in the first and third "Jurassic Park" films.

However when producers came to reboot the franchise with last year's follow-up "Jurassic World", he wasn't asked to be a part of the new film, reported Contactmusic.

When asked by UK chat show host Graham Norton why he hadn't returned for the new movie he said, "I didn't rule it out, they just didn't call me."

Sam says he's not too worried about the snub, but does wonder what became of his character.

"It's fine, I've been doing other things. Someone asked me the other day and I said, 'I don't know what's happened to Alan Grant. He could be dead, he could be in therapy or he might be an accountant in Des Moines (Iowa) - nobody knows what's happened to him.
