New Delhi, Oct 8 (IANS) A number of advances to central government employees, including festival advance and advance of pay on transfer, have been abolished, said an official statement.
In pursuance of the decision taken by the government on the 7th Pay Commission recommendations relating to advances, bicycle advance, warm clothing advance, advance of pay on transfer, festival advance, natural calamity advance, advance of leave salary and advance for lawsuits stand discontinued, a Finance Ministry circular said.
In addition, the advance for training in Hindi through correspondence course, also stands abolished by the recommendation of the Pay Commission, it added.
All the interest free advances stand discontinued with the exception of medical treatment advances, travelling allowance for family of deceased, travelling allowance on tour or transfer and leave travel concession.
"The other interest bearing advances relating to motor car advance and motorcycle, scooter or moped advance will stand discontinued," it said.
The government employees are allowed personal computer advance of Rs 50,000 or its actual price, whichever is lower, it added.
This advance will be allowed a maximum of five times during the entire service period of the employee.
